Vision Racing Look For Rebound In Gateway
MADISON, Ill. (Monday, July 24 2006) - - After a tough weekend at Kansas Speedway earlier this month, Vision Racing and rookie driver Will Vaught at the helm look to redeem themselves as the ARCA RE/MAX Series invade Gateway International Raceway in this Friday’s Shop ‘n’ Save 150. Despite the foul 30th place finish, Vision Racing with Roy Clark have reflected upon their experience at Kansas and vow to return the No. 37 Chevrolet Monte Carlo upfront. At the start of the season, Vision Racing came close to victory after propelling their machine to a stout fifth place effort at Daytona International Speedway. It’s a been a bumpy ride ever since, but Gateway brings new enthusiasm to the team and driver. “I learned so much at Kansas, it’s unbelievable,” said Vaught who looks to make his second career ARCA start this week. “Obviously we had more hiccups than we anticipated but we made the best of it. Kansas is behind us and we’re looking forward to better results on Friday night.” Vaught looks for a strong run at the 1.25 mile paved oval despite not having any previous experience at the Madison, Illinois based speed plant. “We opted not to participate in the open test because we wanted to focus our efforts towards race week. I think I’ll be much comforter at Gateway this week compared to Kansas. We don’t have any points to fall back on, so we have to work our way into the field on time. We did that at Kansas. We didn’t finish the race though, that’s a goal I want to master Friday. That’s the big picture.”
For car owner Adrian Berryhill, he cannot wait to get back to racing. “We’re bringing a great car to the track this weekend and we should be very competitive. Will Vaught is back with us and we’re confident in his ability to get the job done. He has the credentials this team was looking for and I think he has what it takes to put us back in the spotlight.” Another reason why both driver and owner are pumped about the event is the addition of the on board camera. “This is huge for us,” said Berryhill. “It’s an extra incentive to run well, but I think our sponsors will enjoy the benefits of the camera. When it’s all said and done, we’re just looking for a solid finish.” Vaught commented, “To have one of the on board cameras is a privilege for me. I’ve never had anything like this with me while I race but it’s a great feeling. Hopefully we can avoid any bad luck and get some exposure.” Primeaux Kia who sponsored the team at Kansas rejoins the team as the primary sponsor of the No. 37 Chevrolet for the 13th event on the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series calendar. “Primeaux Kia is one of the finest dealerships in the Tulsa area and we’re thrilled to have them back as our primary sponsor this week,” commented team owner Adrian Berryhill. “We’re very proud to have our sponsors apart of the Vision Racing with Roy Clark Racing team and we’re looking for a good weekend of racing.” In addition to Primeaux Kia, Wiley Law Office, Crown Bristow, and Branson Craft Mall will all serve as associate sponsors on the No. 37 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the double-header event weekend with the NASCAR Busch Series. “I’m really thankful
for our sponsors,” said Vaught, a superb late model driver from
the Missouri region. “We have the same group of sponsors from Kansas
and that’s great. They are with us through the ups and down and
that’s important to anyone. Hopefully the monkey is off our back
and we’re going to shine.” Vision Racing has additional
